Born and raised in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, Mark Jones embodies the spirit and values of our vibrant city. From an early age, he learned the importance of community, hard work, and compassion from his parents, who were dedicated educators. Mark’s journey led him to Harvard University, where he studied Political Science and honed his passion for public service. Mark’s career in public service began as a community organizer, advocating for issues that matter most to Atlanta residents. His commitment to equity and justice propelled him to the Atlanta City Council, where he fought tirelessly for affordable housing, education reform, and access to healthcare. Outside of his political career, Mark is a devoted husband and father. He met his wife, Sarah, while they were both students at Harvard, and they have two children together, Emma and David. In his free time, Mark enjoys hiking in the mountains of North Georgia, playing basketball with his kids, and volunteering at local community organizations.
